Est. 1957

Comhaltas Liverpool are a group of talented and passionate musicians who play across the region, sharing the joys of traditional Irish music with the community. The branch dates back to 1957 and was one of the first groups formed in Britian; sharing Irish culture within Liverpool and expanding on our city’s diverse musical heritage.

Bring The Room To Life

Our senior musicians hold regular monthly sessions at the Liverpool Irish Centre, as well as venues in the city centre and love nothing more than bringing a room to life with an array of instruments and traditional tunes.

Promoting Irish Music

Promoting Irish music to our younger generations is one of our key goals. We hold traditional music lessons at the Liverpool Irish Centre every Monday during term time 6.30–8.00pm.

Our wonderful teachers volunteer their own time to teach a range of instruments including fiddle, tin whistle, banjo, accordion and guitar. As well as learning a valuable life skill and the benefits which music can bring, the children also join our musical family and enjoy many events throughout the year.
