Amidst the vibrant city of Liverpool, the Jesse Janes cast a spell upon their audience, enthralling them with spellbinding echoes of the renowned movie, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" The quartet, composed of Tom, Kate, MaryRose, and Ben, enraptured their listeners with a symphony of harmonies, enchanting mandolin and guitar solos, and ethereal melodies. The night's magic also weaved in works by the illustrious T. Bone Burnett, adding a touch of mystique to the already captivating performance. Impressions of the visit of Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D. Higgins to Liverpool Irish Centre on Wednesday 13 February, 2019. Thanks to a kind invitation from Liverpool Irish Centre, I was able to record the visit of Michael D Higgins from a very close viewpoint. First he had a meeting in a small room at the centre with members of the local community. I was able to video him as he moved around chatting to people. He then, accompanied by his wife Sabina, made his way into the main hall. I caught the scene in the corridor at a key point as, briefed by his staff, he paused before entering the hall to a big round of applause. I recorded some of the highlights of his speech. After the talk I had the opportunity to meet the President in person (not in the video!) Many thanks again to Liverpool Irish Centre for helping to fulfil and ambition I've had - to meet the President of Ireland, or in Irish Uachtarán na h-Éireann!
