A Night To Remember with Sliabh Gcua Set Dancers - Saturday 29th June

Saturday June 29th - 7.30pm - late

Michael Coyne joins the Sliabh gCua set club and Bolger Cunningham irish dancers in what will be a lively wonderful night of irish song music and dance. £5 entry for adults - free for children.

——

Sliabh gCua set dancing club from the Dungarvan area of Co Waterford first came to Liverpool to perform during the 1970s.

The Sliabh gCua set club are former All Ireland set dancing champions several times over.

An uncle of some of the dancers, Martin Foley, worked in the Irish Centre at the time and it was through him the invitation to visit Liverpool was extended.

The Sliabh gCua group visit us and then every other year a group from Bolger Cunningham school of irish dancing visit them.

We became great friends and over the years hundreds of dancers and musicians have travelled to and fro to join together in the love of irish music, song and especially dance.

Obviously this was disrupted during Covid and we actually haven’t seen them since.

However we are delighted the group are visiting us 28th - 30th June.

And we know this weekend is going to be just as fabulous.

——

Friday evening - the group will be in the centre for a relaxing evening after their journey but there will, as always be some music and any musicians are welcome to join.
