Anthony O'Dowd - R.I.P.

Writer's picture: liverpoolirish1liverpoolirish1

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Anthony O'Dowd.

Anthony O'Dowd passed away suddenly last week. He was from Cootehill in Co Cavan. He last visited the current Irish Centre 12 months ago with his son Mike, from O'Dowd Beer and Spirits.

Anthony moved to Liverpool in the late 60's. He lived in digs in Birkenhead and Smithdown Road, before meeting Mike's Mum Cecilia in the Irish Centre in the 70's. He lived the rest of his life in Cronton and was a huge part of the community.

He was much loved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Sláinte

Liverpool Irish Centre would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Mike

on the loss of his father.
