The Passing of Tony Cropper

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of one of our long time regulars, Tony Cropper.

He’d come in every Friday evening like clockwork, he’d tell us all about his racing bets for the week and he’d give us handy tips on all the upcoming races.

He’d order a pint and a half of Carling and tell us about the WW2 documentary he was going to watch when he got home. He loved them, he also loved music from the Rockabily era and one of his favourite songs was Poetry in Motion by Johnny Tillotson (they sung it at Anfield)

Tony was an avid Liverpool fan, telling us all about his past experiences on The Kop. He witnessed many of the highlights of Liverpool’s past, he understood how lucky he was to have witnessed many of these moments.

Tony was very well known in our Centre and it is guttering that he had to spend the final year of his life in such an isolated fashion.

R.I.P Tony YNWA 💔

From all of us at Liverpool Irish Centre 🇮🇪✝️🙏
